Maserati Birdcage may get green light
The Maserati Birdcage concept vehicle, designed by Pininfarina and first seen at this year's Geneva Motor Show, got some impromptu track time recently at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Britain. The event's organizer encouraged the heads of Maserati and Pininfarina to let the car stretch its legs on the track during the event. The concept car impressed the crowd, which further fueled rumors that Pininfarina has been talking with Maserati about a limited-production run of the car.

Holy cow, the 1980's future car has come true.
How do you get in it?

Ack! Somebody has stolen Pontiac's 1980s-era Banshee concept and glued a Maserati badge on it. I wonder if there's going to be a special Twisted Sister edition.

I don't think the Banshee is even close:

I do think it could smack of the old Audi Avus concept (my personal fave):

All in all, it's an attractive design. It is certainly wild, but tasteful.

I think Pete may be thinking of the Buick Wildcat, not the Pontiac Banshee:

The IAD Alien is another mid-80's concept in the same vein:

Caught sight of this today in Red Rock Canyon (Las Vegas) where they were taking photos. The pictures don't do it justice -- it is an impressive automobile to say the least.
