Lamborghini Miura to stay "eye candy only"?
GermanCarBlog is
reporting that the Lamborghini Miura concept will not go into production, and instead will exclusively remain
an object of our affection. The reason for the decision is the success of the Murcielago and Gallardo models --
producing these vehicles has Lambo all tapped out, leaving no capacity for the Miura.

Argh. They have to make that car. It looks so good it hurts. I'm tired of the current Lambo designs. If you've seen one you've seen 'em all.

Personaly I think it's not very good looking.
I think it looks "cheap" and I don't think it's really the direction that Lamborghini has been showing us in the past couple of years, I don't see why this was even show.

Would have made for a sweet entry-level (circa $100,000, perhaps) Lambo.

Just as well. The retro Miura model looks like a lemon short cake Pillsbury dough boy with sleep eyes!

Does this also mean that there won't be new, rumored, Lambo Espada 2+2 ?
I agree Miura would be a design refreshment in Lambo's lineup, but I'm not sure that Lambo could differentiate it enough from Galardo and Murcielago, if we disregard design of exterior.

You guys must have some sort of sight impediment or you must have become desensitized to what is actually good looking. The classic Miura was and still is beautiful and this tribute is just as beautiful if not more. If you have a problem with it maybe you should explain what is beautiful. Careful now!! Better do your design research or will end looking just as "beautifully" silly as you sound..

With the exception of Ryan that is. And yes, you end "up" looking silly...

This new Miura is a great looking re-design of, arguably, the best looking Lambo of all time. It makes sense at $100 - 150K USD and with no all-wheel-drive, please! Of course, it would be great if it was priced within reach of working humans.
However, the initial reports suggested a price tag of $700K USD which is just insane. If it would cost that much, then might as well not make it at all.

Nick, what makes them silly if they don't like the design? They are consumers and they have the ultimate right to judge it and spend their money or not. If you like it, that is fine and dandy, but how about you get off your high horse lest you start soulding silly...

I also thought about the differentiation aspect, but from the way i understand it, this was supposed to be a limited edition above the Murcielago. If Ferrari and Porsche can sell limited Enzos and Carrera GTs, Lamborghini should be able to do the same.

Sorry Varun didnt realise you couldnt actually read. So just for you.
Anybody will look silly if they proved they liked the design of the
same guy who designed the Lambo Miura. Hence the comment "Better do
your design research". Is that simple enough for ya!!! High
Horse??? Check the text Sir

...and if you like 1 car a man has designed you have to like them all, or look silly...
nick really, no "design research" is required for people to form an opinion either way. you remind me of those snooty wine tasting snobs putting their noses up at people who dont like an '86 pinot as much as the $10 bottle they got at the grocerie store. let people have their own opinions lest you start to sound like something much worse than silly, a jerk.
