Fans design dream lineups for GM brands
The dedicated General Motors supporters at GMInsideNews are tired of waiting for GM to come up with the compelling model lineups that will propel its brands back to market leadership, so they've taken matters into their own hands, with a minisite called Revitalization in Action.
The first marque to receive the group's revitalization efforts is Buick, once tagged by Bob Lutz as one of GM's "damaged brands." The GMI group's product ideas are based on an encyclopedic knowledge of GM drivetrain and chassis architectures, as well as finely tuned Photoshop skills, and include the Buick Roadmaster Coupe shown above - theoretically based on GM's new Zeta RWD platform and proposed for a 2009 rollout as a next generation Lucerne. (We have to admit, the storied Roadmaster name carries much more weight than Lucerne...)

these pics are very good and I'm agree then the Roadmaster carry much more weight then Lucerne, however another name I like to see revived is the Riviera who was the hardtop version of the Roadmaster in the early 1950s before used for a personnal-luxury coupe to compete against the Ford Thunderbird in 1963.
Btw, I saw at Fanart-central (a fanart site mainly of various animes, mangas, comics, cartoons, videogames characters as well as miscealanous subjects like cars), a fanart of a "Nissan 600Z" (the news of the GM-Nissan-Renault had gived lots of imagination) with the 6.0L/LS2 at http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-449776.html

Oh, I'd buy that Roadmaster Coupe, if it were RWD and lots of HP/torque. It'd be my first GM buy (as a new car).

It is amazing what you can do when cars are designed by individuals with passion and not "designed by committee, under bean-counter's watchful eyes".
I second the previous posts. Hire these guys. However I am sad to say that these are the cars that Buick could get if it was bought by Toyota or BMW, which would preserve and ressurect the Buick heritage of luxury, power and design.

I never understood the large coupe thing either. 2 doors only makes sense on a small vehicle... if you would buy a coupe, it probably means rear passenger comfort and conveniance is not that important... if rear passenger comfort is not important, why would you buy a large vehicle? Hence, large 2 door = no purpose.

Surprise...some people like cars that are bigger than a Civic, but don't scream old man like 4-doors do.
Small 2-doors are neat, but a larger coupe with a 6-speed tranny is better.

How, with in-house talent like this, can GM keep grinding out aesthetically and technically challenged cars unsaleable without massive profit robbing incentives?
The GM Gestapo is probably looking for the people behind this. Here’s a clue. They’re the guys with majorly cojones!

I had a 2-door Grand Prix GTP ('97) and I'd likely not do that again. Looks nice on the outside, but I don't like punishing my 3rd or 4th passenger when they enter or exit.

Buick tired the 2 door halo sports coupe in 1989, it was called the Reatta, it failed, why would it work again in 2009? and the Crossfire, another sales winner ... dumb ideas for a tired old brand …

i like the wildcat. Now all they have to do is concentrate on lightweight and ditch the v8 for the turbo 6. As for the swolen prostrate crowd-screw em theyre almost in wheelchairs anyway. Seriously, that wildcat doing 34 mpg and 3300 lbs would be incredible-
